In any business scenario managing item prices is a crucial activity which is performed through periodic price revisions. Price revisions could be due to several reasons like: increase or decrease in purchase costs, changes in terms and conditions of purchase, changes in margins, government taxes and levies, etc.

Shoper 9 incorporates a flexible and easy to use method of handling price revisions. Different business models need different types of information. In the case of chain stores, the head office exercises the control over the item prices offered at the showrooms. In some businesses the distribution centre may exercise authority and control the prices offered by the POS locations. In the case of a small retail outlet, the stores manager may have the authority to control the prices offered. The price revision functionality in Shoper 9 is designed to meet the requirements of all these business models.

In the case of a centrally managed business, the head office defines the price revision strategy based on the business requirements and are then communicated to the POS locations. A Shoper 9 POS location can also define the price revision for a group of showrooms or for itself based on the business requirements. If created for a group of showrooms, the price revision details are exported to these showrooms for incorporation. The application updates the revision details at the beginning of the day, if available. If a price revision to be effected immediately is received in the middle of the day, it is automatically updated.

The price revision option generates a report containing the information about the current status of the price revisions, which is defined as active, effected or cancelled. The price revision data is imported either through scheduled or manual data synchronisation or through direct import of Price Revision.
