Retail businesses transactions often require physical documents to be created for statutory, auditing and other reasons. This can be a simple bill given to a customer, audit trails for the transactions carried out, documentary confirmation of cash received or paid out, etc. The document so printed has an important role in the retail operations as it can be used as evidence of a business activity representing a transaction, a report, an analysis, etc. Business requirements generally dictate the format or layout of these documents. Shoper 9 provides an easy framework for customising this layout/format of the document to be printed.

Most often it is the format of the sales bill printed which requires changes to be made to the default format. Shoper 9 offers a flexible and easy framework for customising this by means of Bill Printing Templates, whereby one can decide the size of the paper, content and layout of the document, etc. Commonly used formats are shipped as default bill printing templates in Shoper and get automatically applied during installation.

Configuring or designing the labels which are tagged to the stock item (generally the barcode label with the price information) is also supported with a high degree of flexibility in Shoper 9.

In other documents, Shoper 9's formats are generally acceptable for most business scenarios and most of the time default format is used without any change. However, Shoper 9 provides flexibility in configuring the details printed in these documents also.
