This is no secret that WhatsApp is the messenger that has replaced the default messaging app. The moment one says chat the thought that follows is WhatsApp. Too many chatting applications came and are gone but WhatsApp has been constant just like the business management software Tally.

Tally being the biggest name in the business management software domain, has now built a partnership with WhatsApp to ensure ease of business. This version is only available in the Tally 4.0 version and later. So how does it work?

A business has to frequently send invoices, reports and other documents. Tally now allows you to directly WhatsApp your vendors these documents. The process to enable WhatsApp Integration with your Tally requires you to firstly contact your Tally service provider. You need to send a request for the WhatsApp integration through the custom portal. Once the service provider receives your request they can get your Interakt (required to use WhatsApp with Tally) account created. Once that is done, you need to add your number for WhatsApp Business Account (WABA). Your WhatsApp subscription will be activated after this.

What are the Prerequisites for activating WhatsApp in Tally?

To successfully register for a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA), it's advisable to use a fresh contact number not currently associated with any WhatsApp Personal/Business Apps. Additionally, having an active Facebook account is essential for logging in and progressing with the creation or update of your WABA.

To enhance the sign-up and on boarding experience, it's highly recommended to provide the URL of your active business website. If you don't have a website, you can use the URL of your updated Facebook business page. It's crucial to ensure that your business page contains all relevant information to prevent potential account blocks by Meta. A valid TSS (with a minimum of 1-month validity) is required to subscribe to WhatsApp business services. For detailed information, reach out to your Tally Partner.

You have the option to register with WABA through your company's Facebook page and Meta Business Account. If you don't have a Meta Business Account, you can create one seamlessly during the sign-up process through the Interakt portal.

After following the above process, it will take close to 24 hours for the account to start functioning.

WhatsApp Trial Version

You can also use the trial version before paying for the subscription. The trial version will last for 5 days after which you can switch to a paid version. To start a trial version, login to your Interakt account and click on "Know how to use Trial mode". Now you will see a trial number. Add this trial number in TallyPrime 4.0 to start using the trial version.

Step-By-Step Process of How to Start Using WhatsApp with TallyPrime 4.0

Initialize the WhatsApp Registration Process

To integrate TallyPrime with WhatsApp, the primary step is to kick start the sign-up process. Connect with your Tally Partner for a comprehensive understanding of the process and related details. Begin the process by submitting a request through your Partner. They will take the lead in creating your account with our WhatsApp Business Solution Provider (BSP) - Interakt.

In TallyPrime, navigate to Alt+M (Share) > Manage > Sign Up for WhatsApp. This action will direct you to a web page within TallyPrime dedicated to WhatsApp. Review the details on the page to grasp the prerequisites before proceeding.

If you already have a designated Tally Partner, contact them directly or utilize the Partner Locator button to find a nearby Partner. Gather all necessary information about the WhatsApp sign-up process.

Submit a sign-up request via your Tally Partner through the Customer Portal. Log in to the Customer Portal at www.tallysolutions.com, select WhatsApp for Business, and proceed through the Buy WhatsApp for Business screen.

Ensure that details like Product Information and My Contact Details are accurately filled. Confirm your email ID, and if a Tally Partner is assigned, the Partner Information will be prefilled. Click Submit.

Upon submission, your Tally Partner will take charge and facilitate the creation of your Interakt account. You will receive an email containing the login credentials for your Interakt account.

Upon accessing your Interakt account, you can:

  1. Add your contact number to WhatsApp Business Account (WABA)

  2. Utilize the Trial version of WhatsApp

Adding Your Contact Number to Register with WABA & Subscribe to WhatsApp

To initiate sending documents from TallyPrime through WhatsApp, you must add a contact number to your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA). This number becomes your registered business WhatsApp number.

Follow these steps:
  1. Log in to the Interakt portal at app.interakt.ai/login.

  2. In the TallyPrime with WhatsApp screen, explore important information about WhatsApp Business API, restricted industries, and requirements.

  3. Confirm understanding of terms and conditions and privacy policy.

  4. Click the "Add Contact No. for WhatsApp API Account" button.

Connect your Facebook account and fill in business information, ensuring accuracy. Follow the prompts to create or select your WhatsApp Business Account and profile.

Create a WhatsApp Business Profile:
  1. Enter or validate business information.

  2. Specify WhatsApp Business Account Name and Display Name.

  3. Select timezone and business category.

  4. Provide a business description.

Add a phone number for WhatsApp:
  1. Enter the phone number for the WhatsApp Business Account.

  2. Choose verification mode (Text message or Phone call).

  3. Verify your phone number by entering the code received.

Upon successful verification, click Finish. Refresh your Interakt account page to view the confirmation.

Contact your Tally Partner to activate your WhatsApp subscription. Once activated, refresh your Interakt account to confirm your subscription status. Your subscription comes with a one-year validity, aligned with your TSS expiry date, and includes a wallet balance.

This concludes the sign-up process for WhatsApp. Your registered WABA number is now your business's recognized WhatsApp number in TallyPrime.

Renew WhatsApp Subscription

Renew your WhatsApp subscription within 30 days before the end date. Renew through your Tally Partner or directly from TallyPrime or the Customer Portal.

From TallyPrime:
  1. Press Alt+M (Share) > Manage > Renew Subscription.

  2. Verify billing details, agree to policies, and proceed to payment.

From Customer Portal:
  1. Log in, navigate to Control Center > Account Management > License Management.

  2. Select the Serial Number, click (…) under Actions, and choose Renew Subscription.

  3. Verify details, agree to policies, and proceed to payment.

Upon successful payment, receive confirmation via email. Renew on time to continue using TallyPrime with WhatsApp.

Recharge Wallet on Interakt

After signing up for WhatsApp, recharge your Interakt wallet when the balance is low. Recharge through your Tally Partner or directly from TallyPrime or the Customer Portal.

From TallyPrime:
  1. Press Alt+M (Share) > Manage > Recharge Wallet.

  2. Verify billing details, agree to the Delivery Policy, and proceed to payment.

From Customer Portal:
  1. Log in, navigate to Control Center > Account Management > License Management.

  2. Select the Serial Number, click (…) under Actions, and choose Recharge Wallet.

  3. Verify details, agree to policies, and proceed to payment.

  4. After recharging, check the updated wallet balance through Interakt or the Customer Portal.
