Material Requirement Planning (MRP) is an add-on module to TallyPrime, which allows the user to work out the production and purchase requirement based on the Tally data as to sales orders/ sales plans, pending purchase orders, minimum stocks, Reorder level etc worked with the Bill of Materials for finished Goods and semi finished goods.
The MRP module helps you plan production and material purchases based on real data already stored in TallyPrime. It uses sales orders, stock levels, purchase orders, and Bill of Materials (BOM) to calculate what needs to be produced and what materials you must procure, removing guesswork from planning.
The module converts sales demand into a detailed production plan. It shows how much finished and semi-finished goods are required and the components needed as per BOM. This helps your production team allocate resources, avoid unexpected shortages, and schedule work more efficiently.
Yes. After preparing the production plan, the module checks your current stock and pending purchase orders. It then tells you the exact materials and quantities you need to purchase. This avoids unnecessary buying and helps ensure materials arrive on time.
The module compares actual material usage with the standard BOM-based consumption and highlights any variance in quantity or cost. This helps you identify inefficiencies, control wastage, and understand where material usage is deviating from expectations.
No extra data entry is required. The module uses the information already available in TallyPrime - such as BOM, sales orders, stock levels, purchase orders, and reorder settings - to automatically calculate production and material requirements.
Yes. The module considers minimum stock levels, reorder quantities, sales demand, and pending purchase orders to recommend accurate material quantities. This prevents over-purchasing and protects you from running out of essential materials during production.
